My Vintage lady

This would be my Vintage Lady for the Tag Swap that Marie (at the prettypaperboutique.blogspot.com) is so graciously hosting! The challenge was to use a vintage lady, and add lace! For me this was a natural thing to do ! I LOVE VINTAGE AND LACE! You probably can tell by now. Hope you like it !

First look at my April Tag

How much fun I had making this tag for the April Tag Swap hosted by our friend Arlene at butterflykisseswithlove.blogspot.com . Thanks Arlene.

The theme was Roses and flowers, and add some fabric. The fabric is actually my Cupid and Phyque image. That is my favorite stamp in the whole wide world ! There is other pieces of fabric throughout the tag. The Rose on her hair is special! There's vintage lace, as well as vintage bling.

I've not had time to make my first You Tube, but I am hoping May will be a good time to start. I would love to share my techniques with all you lovely ladies! Hope you like it. I'll post more photos soon!

I'm supposed to list ten interesting things about myself, so here it goes:

1) I am a Vice President to a Construction Company in Miami Florida and we Build out the stores you see in the Miami International Airport. ( I learned Arlene is a Project Manager, hummmm Maybe I can convince her to work in the great MIA )

2) I have been blessed with four grown up children that have their own little families. Making me a grandmother of six. Yes Grandmother. You wouldn't know if you saw my photo ! He He !!!! I act like a little girl all the time ! lolol

3) I dream about opening up my own "Art Making Bar" in MIA. Thus the name Artmingle, Inc. Already Incorporated.

4) I live by myself in a four bedroom , three bathroom Townhouse. Two rooms and the Garage are occupied by Art and Sewing ! My home is my retreat !

5) At this time, I am addicted to You Tube. I have met so many wonderful people here. I feel I am never alone! They are humble, generous and best of all, they share my Passion ! Art and Shopping ! LOL

6) Being so humble myself, I am finding it hard to write ten things that are interesting about me! This is hard labor ! :)

7) Oh ! My favorite symbol is the Fleur De Lis !

Artful Journey Retreat - WOW!

Picture a group of Powerful Artistic Women, up in the Mountains of Los Gatos CA, having so much fun, sharing and getting to know each other. They were from all over the world, Hungary, Australia, Iceland United States (of course) and more. Artful Journey was hosted by Cindy O'Leary at http://www.anartfuljourney.com/retreats . I took DJ Pettitt's at http://djpettitt.typepad.com/djpettitt/ class and it was just AMAZING. They are having another on in July 2010 and I highly recommend it. Thank you to all involved in putting this event together. I will cherish these moments forever !

This is my Apron Swap for the Artful Journey Retreat in Los Gatos California. It went to the lovely Davielle Huffman from CA. She is Princess Magpie at princessmagpie@cox.net. I hope she enjoys it, I made it with lots of Love. It was beaded with crystals and lots of flowers. Lots of Bling!

Happy New Year ! 2010

Well, talk about a leave of absence! Many things happened, or did not happened. I just had to go with the flow. Luckily I am back now, better in Health and ready to take on the New Year!
Got to make it up to a couple of friends! And I will.
One and only resolution for 2010 : Get with my art and Pour my heart into it!

Mini kit and Sarah

It's been a while. I have been totally swamp with work! (That's a good thing and I am thankful for that)

Today I received my second mini album kit from DSC and there was a lot of goodies. These girls rock! Thanks Arlene and Bona.

But most important I now know who my second swap buddy is. It's Sarah, from Southeastern Kentucky! I am happy to learn she wants a Halloween album. Very excited for I just went shopping this weekend for Halloween goodies and my oh my! I did some damage :)

I hope she is ready for a junkie up cool Halloween album.

Good News from Laura !

I feel like I passed the first test ! Laura sent me an email stating that she loved the Mini Album I made for her ! YEY! OK, I can do this ( I say to myself) . It's a wonderful feeling to make something for someone you don't even know. It's amazing what one can learn from that person just by Googleling ! Did I mention I am going to Artful Journey in February to take a class with DJ Pettitt!. There I have three Swaps. One is to make 22 Goodie bags, of things that you would like to receive. It started out that they were to be sandwich bags, but someone said, "I am making goody bags but they will not be sandwich bags." That means we have to get creative with our bags :) (Fun), Then, there is 120 ATC Trades for the entire group of people attending the event, and there is a special Apron for my assigned parter, this one is to be handmade and embellished to her likings ! WOW. I have a lot to do.


This weekend I am hoping to learn the YouTube thing. I would like my next mini to be in video so I can share more! Until next time... Be creative always!

Laura's Mini DCS Swap

I DID IT ! I am including photos of Laura's Mini before it gets overnighted today to her home. I had a lot of fun putting it together and can only hope she likes it. This is my first swap ever. Hopefully I will have time next one to put on You Tube. Looking forward to getting more into this and I should get better in time !

Clock is ticking !

Yes. I've been quiet. No You Tube yet :( but I will be posting the photos of Laura's 6 x 6 Mini Album. I never heard back from Laura, so, I decided that based on her blog, and based on her credentials, She must be a classy lady! Album is almost done, I even did a three pieced fabric cover for her butterfly , yes I did sewing! But it needs more stuff. So tonight I will bling it up :) and I will have to overnight it to her for her to get by Monday 09/28. I have also decorated the box it is going in. I really hope she likes it. This is one ginormous challenge, then it happens to be my first swap! Yikes! I have been busy. Can't wait to share.

Progress

OK. This is a slow start , but I finally thought of my shape (s) for Laura's mini Album. YEY! I am hoping that by End of this weekend I will have my first You Tube Intro video and a little peek at her album. (Let's hope she is not reading ;-) Anyway, I am having fun during this setting up and moving forward into the Blogging world. Even bought a book at Barnes to improve my blog site.

Laura Benison

I must say I am in for a great challenge. As a part of DSC I am to create an album for Laura Benison. After learning who she is artistically, watching all of her You Tubes (which totally rock!) I feel like when you are shopping for a gift for a person who has everything. :)
I am the person who has millions of things in my artroom, however; felt the need to go shopping for her album... (Noticed how I said NEED) Can't wait to share.
After taking on the challenge of setting up my blog and my you tube (Thanks Deux Shabby Chics) now I have to get the video thing going . In that way I can show any progress or final album that will be going off to Laura. So off I go, will come back soon. Best,

So much fun, so little time

WOW! I am overwhelmed with the sharing of all artists in the world of blogging. Amazing how you get to meet people all over the world who so generously give of their inspiration. I am falling into this and I am loving it.

I have planned three amazing trips for 2010 and 2011 Yes 2011. There is Artful Journey in Feb 2010, there is Art and Soul Virginia May 2010 and then there is DJ Pettitt in Italy Feb 2011. I have lots of planning to do so I better get going.

Also I am a proud member of Deux Shabby Chic! Meeting new gals and excited that we will be exchanging a mini album with designated partner. This month I have non the less Laura Denison from The Paper Trial. Please check her out. Awesome videos! Lots of sharing great inspiration!

I hope to be able to have time this week to start uploading photos of my work as well as travel photos with my favorite teachers.

This is so much fun. I have to thank Deux Shabby Chics for the inpiration to set my blog up. I am loving it.
